Astor Galleries has helped countless customers, with what can sometimes be a challenging task – the evaluating and liquidating of personal property they have collected over the years or perhaps inherited.

​Our mission is to assist individuals who are looking to liquidate personal property by providing them with honest evaluations, as well as reliable and compassionate service, enabling them to get a fair price for those items.

Our Story

We specialize in Fine Art, Jewelry. Antiques & Collectibles and over the past forty years, we have developed an extensive global network of interior decorators and collectors enabling us to realize record-breaking prices for those types of items. Therefore we are able to buy at the local auction houses and resell in our markets for much higher prices.

[M]y experience using Astor Galleries to handle the sale of approximately 77 items, can be summarized as “the best decision I’ve ever Made”. Stephen and his team came to my home at 8AM and finished carefully wrapping, inventorying, photographing each item with cleaning up by 9:30 PM, the same day. This effort was without any damage and I was given a complete inventory of each item and/or grouping of smaller items,(e.g., coins) at the time they left...I should note some of the items were Chinese furniture—namely a large dining room set of rare wood, a Chinese day bed, screens and even an old wooden door that weighed several hundred pounds, as well as several sets of Chinese chairs, tables and porcelain vases, figures, etc.  My point is that my consignment was a combination of delicate and valuable items. Again the team of five or six people were expert, careful and a pleasure to oversea their professional attitude and efficient performance. Stephen went over with me each item listed in the inventory and I signed off on the details and the accuracy. By the terms of our contract I knew that the length of time would be one year to finalize the sale and reconcile my settlement. The reason was that Astor Galleries would handle to sale and collect agreed buyer payments. Astor would select the selling approaches and not overload too many unique items in one auction...It may sound that one year would be a too long a period but that much time optimizes higher prices...Stephen would update me periodically, throughout the year but would only tell me how well the sales were going and not give me specific dollar numbers…After six months, nine months and on time at the close of the year he called to give my the final numbers. He mentioned he was cutting a check for about 65% of the total and in a few weeks, after settling accounts receivable with the buyers he would send the final 35% in another month, which he did on time.  Needless to say I was very, very pleased with the final results….the total exceeded my estimates.

I took this much time to take you through my experience to assure you this organization is truly professional and worthy of your consideration. I considered selling these item personally but considering the advertising expense, the wide reach of international on-line alternatives, including packing, shipping and collections I felt Astor Galleries was better equipped than me…
